Kathryn Sandberg, Ph.D.
Dr. Sandberg received her B.A. degree in Chemistry from the University of Rochester and her PhD degree in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. After a Pharmacology Research Associate postdoctoral fellowship and Senior Staff position at NIH, she joined the faculty at Georgetown University in 1994 and rose to the rank of tenured Professor of Medicine and Physiology and Biophysics. In 2003, Dr. Sandberg established the Center for the Study of Sex Differences in Health, Aging and Disease (CSD) at Georgetown University, which includes over 50 faculty members in diverse departments across the medical center and university (csd.georgetown.edu). The Center has a broad focus encompassing sex differences in cell biology and oncology; endocrinology, obesity and diabetes; immunology and infection; neuroscience and cognition; and, vascular biology and hypertension. Over her career, Dr. Sandberg has published extensively. Dr. Sandberg has a long-standing record of grant support starting in 1996 from foundations, pharmaceutical companies and from the NIH. Dr. Sandberg has received various awards for her research including several Young Investigator Awards and the Established Investigator Award from the American Heart Association (AHA). She has frequently been invited to lecture on her work at numerous national and international institutions and at scientific meetings. In addition, Dr. Sandberg serves on numerous editorial boards and peer-review panels.
Susette C. Mueller, Ph.D.
After earning her Bachelors degree at Duke University and her PhD in cell biology from the University of North Carolina, Dr. Mueller completed post doctoral fellowships at Harvard University and at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Medicine. Her research focus as Professor and Director of Microscopy and Imaging at Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center is to determine the mechanisms of tumor cell invasion. As a result of this research, Dr. Mueller published numerous articles and has been funded by the National Cancer Institute, Department of Defense Breast Cancer Program, and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Dr. Mueller serves on peer-review panels and is an expert in microscopy.
J. Suzanne Lindsey, Ph.D.
Dr. Lindsey earned her Bachelors of Applied Science degree magna cum laude from Pacific University and her PhD from Oregon Health and Science University. Her post doctoral fellowship was at the Oregon Regional Primate Research Center. After serving as a professor and principal investigator at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and Washington State University’s Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. Lindsey was founding scientist and Vice President of Recodagen Corporation in Seattle. The National Institutes of Health and other foundations have funded Dr. Lindsey’s research. Dr. Lindsey discovered Migration inducting gene-7 and other atypical genes. Dr. Lindsey has published numerous articles and has served on review panels for the National Science Foundation as well as other foundations and journals. Dr. Lindsey continues to serve as affiliate professor of Washington State University’s School of Molecular Biosciences as well as Founding Scientist and President of the non-profit Atypigene Biomedical Research Institute.

Randy J. Clawson, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Clawson earned his B.A. in Finance from Texas A&M University. Mr. Clawson has 20 years of financial training and experience in accounting, inventory control and cash flow analyses. He is also experienced in budget preparation, securing bank loans and alternative financing. He served as a retail account executive for Merrill Lynch with experience in sales of stocks, bonds, options, commodities, insurance products and annuities.
Theodore C. L. Smith, Chief Information Officer
Mr. Smith graduated from Oregon State University with a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Spanish. He currently works as a Business Analyst for a web development team and has experience in sales, project management and web services.
